Glastonbury Dates and Lineup 2026: A 5-Day Schedule

Sponsored

There is no Glastonbury Festival in 2026 — 2026 is a fallow year, when the farm rests and the festival does not take place. The most recent edition was Glastonbury 2025, which ran from Wednesday, 25th June to Sunday, 29th June 2025 at Worthy Farm in Pilton, Somerset, with headliners The 1975 (Friday), Neil Young and the Chrome Hearts (Saturday), and Olivia Rodrigo (Sunday), and Rod Stewart in the prestigious Sunday Legends slot. The next edition is expected in 2027 — exact 2027 dates, lineup, and ticket details have not been announced, so confirm them on the official site before planning.

Below we recap the 2025 edition as a reference for what a Glastonbury year looks like: stage times for all major stages, the mystery of "Patchwork," Silver Hayes, the Left Field, and what to do if you do not have a ticket. All times are from the 2025 schedule and should be re-confirmed for the 2027 edition on the Official Glastonbury Lineup page or the official app before you travel.

When is Glastonbury? (2026 Fallow Year)

Glastonbury does not take place in 2026 — it is a fallow year. The festival takes a fallow year every five or six years to let the land at Worthy Farm recover. Michael Eavis and the organising team use this break to restore the soil and give the local Pilton community a full season without the festival's impact. The next edition is expected in 2027; exact dates have not been confirmed, so check the official site closer to the time.

For reference, the most recent festival, Glastonbury 2025, ran for five days: Wednesday 25th June through Sunday 29th June 2025. Gates opened on Wednesday morning with camping available from that point, the main stages started programming on Friday 27th June, and Sunday 29th June was the final night, closing with Olivia Rodrigo on the Pyramid Stage. A 2027 edition is likely to follow the same late-June, Wednesday-to-Sunday pattern, but confirm the official dates before booking travel.

Who Headlined Glastonbury 2025? (Most Recent Edition)

The 1975 opened headline duties on Friday night, taking the Pyramid Stage from 22:15 to 23:45. Matty Healy's band were long-awaited on the Glasto main stage, and their elaborate production tends to run close to the time limit. Before them, Alanis Morissette played 18:15–19:15 and Biffy Clyro held the 20:15–21:15 slot.

Neil Young and the Chrome Hearts headlined Saturday, 22:00–23:45. This was Young's first Glastonbury appearance since 2009, and the Chrome Hearts configuration delivered a full electric rock set rather than an acoustic one. RAYE played directly before him at 20:00–21:00, making Saturday the most eclectic evening on the Pyramid.

Olivia Rodrigo closed the festival on Sunday, 21:45–23:15, as the youngest solo headliner in Pyramid Stage history. Noah Kahan (19:45–20:45) and Nile Rodgers and Chic (18:00–19:00) preceded her. Rod Stewart occupied the Sunday Legends slot at 15:45–17:15, a daytime institution that draws one of the largest non-headliner crowds of the weekend.

Friday 27th June 2025: Lineup and Stage Times

The Pyramid Stage opens its main music programme on Friday with Supergrass at 12:00–13:10, followed by CMAT, Burning Spear, and a TBA slot at 16:55–17:30. Alanis Morissette takes over at 18:15, Biffy Clyro at 20:15, and The 1975 close at 22:15.

The Other Stage runs parallel with Loyle Carner closing at 22:30, supported by Busta Rhymes, Gracie Abrams, Franz Ferdinand, and Wet Leg across the afternoon. West Holts brings a jazz-and-global flavour: Maribou State (22:15), BADBADNOTGOOD (20:30), Denzel Curry (19:00), En Vogue (17:30), and Vieux Farka Touré (16:00).

The Park Stage closes late with Anohni and the Johnsons at 23:00–00:15. Earlier in the day, look out for English Teacher (16:30–17:30), Self Esteem (21:15–22:15), and Wunderhorse (19:30–20:30). The Woodsies Stage fields Four Tet (22:30), Floating Points (21:00), Pinkpantheress (19:30), and Blossoms (18:00). There is also a TBA slot at Woodsies at 11:30 — one of three mystery bookings that year.

Saturday 28th June 2025: Lineup and Stage Times

Saturday on the Pyramid opens with Kaiser Chiefs (12:00–13:00) and moves through Brandi Carlile, The Script, and John Fogerty before Patchwork at 18:15–19:15 — the festival's biggest talking point that year. RAYE follows at 20:00 and Neil Young and the Chrome Hearts close at 22:00.

The Other Stage on Saturday features Charli xcx closing at 22:30, with Ezra Collective, Amyl and the Sniffers, and Weezer across the afternoon. West Holts brings some of the weekend's most adventurous bookings: Doechii (22:45), Amaarae, Greentea Peng, Yussef Dayes, and Kneecap (16:00–17:00). Woodsies puts Scissor Sisters at the top of the bill (22:30), with Tom Odell and Father John Misty below them. The Park Stage on Saturday has a TBA at 19:30–20:30 and closes with Caribou at 23:00.

Sunday 29th June 2025: Lineup and Stage Times

Sunday on the Pyramid begins gently with The Selecter (11:15–12:00), Celeste (12:30–13:30), and The Libertines (14:00–15:00). Rod Stewart takes the Legends slot at 15:45–17:15. Then Nile Rodgers and Chic (18:00), Noah Kahan (19:45), and finally Olivia Rodrigo (21:45–23:15) bring the festival to a close.

The Other Stage closes with The Prodigy (21:45–23:15), one of the most energetic bookings of the weekend. Below them: Wolf Alice (19:45), Snow Patrol (18:00), and Turnstile (16:30). West Holts rounds off with Overmono (21:45), Parcels (20:00), The Brian Jonestown Massacre (18:30), and GOAT (17:00). Woodsies features Jorja Smith (21:30–22:45) and AJ Tracey (20:00). The Acoustic Stage closes with Roy Harper (21:30–22:30) and includes the London Community Gospel Choir at 17:00 — a beloved Sunday tradition that draws a crowd disproportionate to its slot time.

Secret Sets and the "Patchwork" Mystery

Sponsored

The most-discussed slot in 2025 was Patchwork, listed on the Pyramid Stage on Saturday at 18:15–19:15. Glastonbury uses pseudonyms to build anticipation for unannounced bookings, and the Patchwork name sparked genuine speculation. The leading theory: a book called Patchwork exists written by a Sylvia Haim, pointing toward the American sister group Haim. A competing theory placed Pulp in the slot, returning to the stage where they famously stepped in for The Stone Roses in 1995. Mumford and Sons were also mentioned, though their profile fits a later slot.

Beyond Patchwork, three TBA slots sat on the 2025 schedule: Pyramid Stage Friday at 16:55, Woodsies Friday at 11:30, and The Park Stage Saturday at 19:30. In 2024, Kasabian played an unannounced set at Woodsies, and secret sets like these are a Glastonbury tradition to expect again in 2027. When the festival returns, check the official app on the morning of each day for last-minute confirmations.

Silver Hayes and the Dance Music Stages

Sponsored

Silver Hayes is Glastonbury's dedicated electronic and dance music zone, running from Thursday through Sunday with programming that stretches past 03:00 each night. The area contains multiple venues including the Sonic, Freedom, Pussy Parlure, Stages, and the Temple tent. It operates as a near-separate festival within the festival, and many attendees base their entire Saturday night here rather than on the main stages.

Friday night headliners in Silver Hayes include Fatboy Slim (22:30–00:00) on the Freedom stage and Carl Cox running a three-hour DJ and Eric Powell Mobile Disco set (14:25–17:25). Saturday brings Leftfield (22:30–23:45) and Amelie Lens (01:30–02:55). Sunday closes with Groove Armada on the Sonic stage (01:00–02:30) and Sherelle at 00:30–02:00. If electronic music is your priority, Silver Hayes is where you should plan your evenings.

Adjacent areas include Shangri-La, a post-apocalyptic art and music world in the south-east corner, and Block9, an immersive late-night environment running themed stages. Both operate from late evening and are best experienced after midnight. The Common, which includes the Rum Shack and The Temple, provides a slightly more accessible late-night option.

Theatre and Circus Fields and the Left Field Stage

Sponsored

Not everything at Glastonbury involves amplified music. The Theatre and Circus Fields run continuous daytime programming across the full five days. Rimski's Yard Variety Spectacular is one of the flagship shows — an absurdist cabaret that sells out each year despite being free to attend (first-come, first-seated). The area also contains spoken-word performances, poetry slams, and circus acts that are genuinely worth prioritising on Wednesday and Thursday when the main stages are quiet.

The Left Field Stage combines music with politics and is one of Glastonbury's most distinctive offerings. Curator Billy Bragg programmes a mix of emerging bands and political debate panels. In 2025, confirmed panels included Caroline Lucas discussing climate and labour policy, Zarah Sultana MP on the rise of the far right, and Andy Burnham on disability funding cuts. These panels ran in the afternoon (12:00–15:00 slot range), with bands including Kate Nash, Lambrini Girls, and Grandson taking the stage from early evening. If you are interested in radical politics or want to see artists who do not appear anywhere else on site, the Left Field is worth an afternoon detour.

Ticket Availability and Registration Status

Sponsored

Tickets for Glastonbury 2025 sold out — the main sale happened on a Sunday in November 2024 and was gone within hours, and the coach packages that went on sale a few days earlier were exhausted too. There is no legitimate resale option — Glastonbury does not authorise secondary market sales, and tickets are non-transferable without going through the official swap scheme on the Glastonbury Registration Portal.

For reference, the ticket price for 2025 was £373.50 plus a £5 booking fee, with a £75 deposit required at purchase and the balance due in the first week of April; the 2027 price has not been announced and is likely to be higher. Because 2026 is a fallow year, the registration window for 2027 tickets had not opened at the time of writing — register on the SeeTickets portal as soon as it does, because you cannot buy a ticket without a pre-existing registration number.

How to Watch from Home: BBC iPlayer Coverage

Sponsored

The BBC broadcasts Glastonbury more extensively than any other UK broadcaster, with live coverage across BBC Two, BBC Four, and BBC iPlayer running from Friday afternoon through Sunday night. iPlayer streams multiple stages simultaneously during the peak hours of each day, meaning you can follow acts on the Pyramid, Other Stage, and West Holts in parallel. Previous years have seen the BBC stream well over 100 hours of coverage in total.

Coverage typically begins around 14:00 on Friday and runs until the headliner closes, often past 00:00. Sunday sees the earliest start, with the BBC often picking up the Acoustic Stage's gospel and folk sets from mid-morning. The iPlayer streams are available in the UK without a TV licence for live viewing, and highlights are added to catch-up within 24 hours for those who miss sets. BBC Sounds covers the audio for acts where video rights are withheld. For the 2025 edition, the BBC's Glastonbury presence meant that even without a ticket, all three headliners and most of the major stage acts were watchable at home — expect the same comprehensive coverage when the festival returns in 2027.

Accessibility and British Sign Language (BSL) Services

Sponsored

Glastonbury has a dedicated Accessibility team and a purpose-built accessible campsite with hard-standing pitches, accessible toilet facilities, and proximity to the main stages. Deaf attendees can access BSL interpretation at most headline performances on the Pyramid Stage and the Other Stage. For the 2025 edition the BSL Poet Laureate was John Berkavitch, who performed as part of the Theatre and Circus programme and was listed by the official site as Glastonbury's Poet in Residence.

If you require accessibility support, contact the Glastonbury accessibility team at least three months before the festival — spaces in the accessible campsite are limited and allocated in advance. The festival also operates a carer ticket scheme for attendees who require one-to-one support. Details are published on the official website under the Accessibility section. Most of the accessible infrastructure centres around the main stages, and navigating the far corners of the site (Block9, Shangri-La) can be significantly harder in a wheelchair or with limited mobility — plan your routing accordingly.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a ticket to Glastonbury cost?

For the most recent festival, in 2025, a ticket cost £373.50 plus a £5 booking fee, including five nights of camping and access to all stages, with a £75 deposit due during the initial November sale. The price for the 2027 edition has not been announced and is likely to be higher.

Why is Glastonbury not being held in 2026?

The festival will take a fallow year in 2026 to let the land recover. This break prevents permanent damage to the farm's soil and infrastructure. It also gives the local Pilton village a needed rest.

Who were the big acts at the most recent Glastonbury?

The 2025 headliners were The 1975, Neil Young, and Olivia Rodrigo, with Rod Stewart in the prestigious Sunday Legends slot, plus major acts across the West Holts and Other Stage. The 2027 lineup has not yet been announced.

With 2026 a fallow year, the next Glastonbury is expected in 2027. The 2025 edition recapped above — three distinct headliners, the Patchwork mystery, Silver Hayes running until dawn, and the Left Field's political programming in parallel — shows how much the schedule rewards detailed planning, and the 2027 festival will reward it just the same. We hope this guide helps you build a realistic set list when the lineup lands. See our packing list guide for what to bring to Worthy Farm, and check the official festival coach options for the smoothest route in from Castle Cary.

Whether you are in the field or watching on BBC iPlayer at home, the memories made across these five days tend to last considerably longer than the mud dries.
